maintenance and migration

The good news is that this blog is about to receive a long overdue makeover (and migration to wordpress). The bad news is that it will probably go down over the next few days (possibly multiple times), as will the archives. Rest assured, I have solicited the help of knowledgeable friends, and the end result will surely justify the means.
